Harmony's Transitional Preschool program offers greater Newburyport families a gentle opportunity for children to gain independence and practice Preschool rhythms. Each morning includes a community gathering time, story circle, and seasonal songs. Each day, children enjoy fresh-baked bread, a fresh fruit or vegetable snack, and spend abundant time outdoors in our Toddler Garden. The rhythm of the morning weaves facilitated group activities with ample independent play, exploration, and social time.

Our specially trained teachers offer your child unprecedented support through separation issues, emotional self-regulation, and impulse control, while fostering social learning. All children start the program at 90 minutes and gradually work up to the full morning when deemed ready by parents and teachers, based on separation success, innate temperament, and stamina. Children emerge from this inquiry- and play-based program well-equipped to move on to Preschool and receive priority enrollment status for Preschool at Harmony.
